The Verandah Post Town

This charming heritage town is in the centre of the Nambucca Valley and is commonly known as ‘The Verandah Post Town’. Bowraville’s main street is lined with veranda-shaded footpaths, cafes, museums, art galleries and a treasure trove of Indigenous art and culture. The town developed around the timber industry which is responsible for the unique streetscape and architecture of Bowraville. It is beautifully situated within attractive farmland and mountain rainforests.

Bowraville is well known for tourism with attractions such as a folk museum, a war museum, a historic theatre, and other historic buildings.

#ClintonSpeedyDuroux was just 16 years old when he was murdered in #Bowraville in northern New South Wales in 1991. Clinton was the third Indigenous child to go missing along the same road in the space of five months. Despite convincing evidence stacked against his killer, a botched police investigation and a dated justice system won’t retry the white suspect. Filmmaker #AllanClarke needs your help to complete #TheBowravilleMurders, a documentary investigating the killings. Allan and his and his team need just $10,000 by June 30 to reach their goal. At the link in the bio, we spoke to Clinton’s aunt Helen as her family enter the third decade of fighting to be seen as equals under the law and bring justice to their beautiful boy. If you can spare $1 or $50, please donate to help get this story told. Editor: jessicalbailey_
